What is 3D - SECURE ?

Banking payment strengthened with 3D - SECURE (Verified by Aimed - Mastercard SecureCode)

Since October 1st, 2008, the security was strengthened in credit card payment on numerous French sites, with 3D device - SECURE. Henceforth you have to seize a code of authentification to make a credit card payment.

This authentification is made via a partner additional site of the bank.

This reduces strongly the risks of a fraudulent use of your bank card. So even if your banking address and phone number were stolen or got in any way, they could not be used without knowing the code of authentification.

Note: this code PINE is not the one of your bank card (during a physical use) but a full code reserved for payments on Internet!

Before the 3D device - SECURE

It was possible to pay simply with the number of credit card and the banking information to the back of your card(map).

Inconveniences: nothing assured that you were the author. Somebody ill-intentioned could use your banking information without your agreement.

With the 3D device - SECURE

You have a special code dedicated to your purchases on Internet. This last one allows to authenticate you and to make sure that it is good you the carrier of the card who make the payment.

Advantages: you are the only person to hold the code of authorization to make the payment.

What is my 3D code - SECURE?

According to your bank, this code was you it is directly awarded or will be asked to you to define it during your first credit card payment on Internet (variable according to the policy of your bank and the type of card).

Concretely, what it changes during the payment?

You make your payment by CB as usual: seized with the number of CB, date of expiration and the visual cryptogram (last 3 figures in the back of the card), you are then redirected towards it a site given by your bank where it is asked to you to seize the 3D code - SECURE.

The rerouting is automatically made since the server of our bank towards the site of the bank of your bank card. This site is completely secured.

That takes place t-il if the authentification does not make a success ?

If after 3 attempts, the authentification fails, your bank card will be deactivated. It will not be possible any more to make a payment via internet with your card.

You can however continue to use normally your bank card to remove from some money or pay via a terminal of physical banking payment. It will be necessary to contact your bank to reactivate your bank card for payments on Internet.
